Urban Cafe Changes Direction

While only open for a month - the highly rated Urban Cafe has decided to remove the salads and pizza from the menu and stick with a dessert only offering. While speaking with Yehoshua, the owner, it became apparent that the move was due to economic reasons. Simply put, he would have had to charge too much for the salads and pizzas in order to stay in business.
I must say that I'm a bit disappointed - as I had heard only good things for this promising new dairy restaurant.
That being said, I was lucky enough to sample one of his cinnamon buns today. As a pastry, the cinnamon bun itself is really good. It's doughy on the inside, crisp on the outside with a great balance of spice and sweet (the base cream-cheese icing is great!). But the kuntz here is all in the toppings. And they sound promising!
I was able to taste the blueberry-espresso topping. I must be honest - the espresso was a bit lost; but the acidic blueberries were a great foil to the richness of the pastry and cream. I hope that this sauce is improved upon - and I would also like to see some parve offerings so that we can dine at Crave (next door) and dessert at the Urban Cafe!
Good luck Yhoshua!
